The theme I chose for my collection revolves around the term care culture, where the concept of home can be understood as a physical object. During the covid hit period, the "emotional response" was the most powerful driver of consumer’s needs. It focuses on creating a relationship outside of a living to living being, rather any physical/non physical form. The idea is to create a collection that would provide the consumer the comfort of a home whilst preserving the complexities of a relationship. Here, the relationship of human and nature.
The idea is to highlight the irony in the world as to how the by products of nature, at the cost of its destruction, has a tendency to provide comfort to consumers. The care culture truly is about the comfort provided to us by nature and in return, non-resourcefulness by the humans.

The story is divided into three parts: marine plastic story, oil spill story and bleached coral story. The idea of making an exclusive collection roots from the concept of "Talking textiles" where we wanted our product to always address a cause.
